Library Update - Children\'s Resources
Dear CLC members,
Luther places great importance on the duties of parents in continually teaching their children about the faith at home. In the preface to the Large Catechism, he says “it is the duty of every father of a family to question and examine his children and servants at least once a week and to ascertain what they know of it, or are learning, and, if they do not know it, to keep them faithfully at it.”
Parents can help their children get familiar with the stories of the Bible and Christian doctrine through our robust collection of age-appropriate resources in the church library.
As Sunday School resumes and fall activities absorb our time, I hope you will add these great books to your bedtime routine and also find them a good refresher for your own faith.
Happy reading,
Kaylin

- Brand new from Concordia Publishing House (our Synod’s publisher), My First Catechism and Luther’s Small Catechism for Kids are solid resources for our young theologians. The latter can be used with older elementary-aged students to read and study concepts from the catechism.
- Arch story books are great books to read at bedtime and cover many of the familiar stories of the Bible and Jesus’ life. Find plenty of them on the colorful bookshelves in the church library. There is also an Arch hardcover collection covering Jesus’ life on the main children’s bookshelf (Arch Books Treasury: Life of Jesus).
- The Growing in Faith Bible Storybook includes 125 narratives with beautiful illustrations which are designed for children ages 6 through 8.
As Sunday School resumes and fall activities absorb our time, I hope you will add these great books to your bedtime routine and also find them a good refresher for your own faith.
