Sixth Petition Prayer

April 12 - Prayer
 
Prayer:
O Lord, God our Father in Heaven, look with mercy on us!  We are so often dragged away into our vices and sin which cause us great shame and pain.  It is almost impossible to endure, and we feel compelled to hide our faces from before you in hopes that you may not look at us or our shame.

But out of love, turn us again, cause your face to shine upon us.  Do not abandon us to our sin and our shame.  Guard and defend your sheepfold which you have purchased with the blood of your Son.  Behold us as precious and preserve us from the wolves.

Let the victory that you have won for us in Jesus be the sign that we shall conquer.  Crush the devil, the world, and our sinful flesh so that we may remain in your truth and be led into true belief, hope, and great honor and virtue.
 
Grant us the relief that comes through the fact that Jesus Christ is Lord, and he has triumphed for us.  In Jesus name.  Amen.
