Creation. What comes to mind when this word is stated? Perhaps images of our world the midst of a great expanse of space. Perhaps forests and grassy plains are in view. Waterfalls, mountains, oceans, and deserts. Together they form the places where we live and the places where God has put us.  Read More
Library Update - Children\'s Resources

Luther places great importance on the duties of parents in continually teaching their children about the faith at home. In the preface to the Large Catechism, he says “it is the duty of every father of a family to question and examine his children and servants at least once a week and to ascertain what they know of it, or are learning, and, if they do not know it, to keep them faithfully at it.”  Read More

I have been asked about preaching a lot lately. How I learned to preach, style of preaching, etc. My preaching on Ephesians got a few inquiries come my way of which I am all thankful for and love. It is after all, my trade in life. So, I thought I would take some space to give more background into my training and the nature of homiletics (the study of preaching).   Read More

To come into the presence of a king, let alone THE King, is no small thing. Esther’s point above is this, “Ask anyone who is alive, and they will tell you that you cannot just come into the King’s presence without being called by Him. That is a death sentence to approach the king without his permission.”  Read More

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your doing, it is the gift of God, not a result of works so that no one may boast.” Ephesians 2:8 The verse quoted above is but a mere sample of what is in those 6 chapters. Out of Paul’s letters it is my favorite, and arguably, perhaps my favorite book in the entire Bible. The jury is still out on that one because it is hard to settle for just one.   Read More
June Newsletter 2021

The word blessing in the book of Genesis is a key word that flows through the entire book. Used more than a dozen times in Genesis alone, it is placed at key moments between God and his chosen people. God blesses his creatures in creation. God blesses Noah after the flood. God blesses Abraham and through him, all nations will be blessed. God blesses Jacob. Each time the blessing is tied to a promise from God.  Read More

How important is unity in the Church? I could give a theological paper on it. I could give a list of synonyms with unity in the bible: community, harmony, concord, oneness, & fellowship. Here are just a few passages talking about unity with God and with one another:  Read More

This is Pastor Andrew. I woke up on 5/6 with some covid symptoms. I went and got tested yesterday and found out this morning (5/7) that I am positive for Covid-19. I am overall doing well, and so is my family, and I am also a bit surprised it hasn’t happened to me sooner.   Read More
April Newsletter Update
on April 14th, 2021
Gah! I just love the post-resurrection appearances of Jesus. They are fraught with tension and excitement. There are the women, the disciples in the boat, and the men on the road to Emmaus just going about their way and their lives when Jesus unexpectedly arrives. We are outside looking in and eagerly waiting for the people in the narrative to make the realization that we have:  Read More
Lent 2021 - Holy Communion (Anderson)
on April 1st, 2021
There is so much to talk about with this Sacrament of the Lord’s body and blood that I am afraid one little daily devotion is not sufficient. This miracle deserves our constant amazement and attention. The Lord Jesus Christ has joined His body and blood to simple bread and wine by the power of His Word. Even more so, this bread and wine grant us forgiveness, life, and eternal salvation. What an amazing Sacrament.  Read More
